Job Description

We’re excited to offer an apprenticeship opportunity for a motivated, organised and curious individual who wants to grow a career in project management within a creative and digital environment. You’ll work closely with our Digital Client Strategists and the wider team to help plan, manage, and deliver high-impact WordPress and WooCommerce projects.

Responsibilities

You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle — from defining project scope to managing resources, timelines, risks and stakeholder relationships. Your typical activities will include:

  • Assisting in the planning and scheduling of digital projects
  • Supporting the creation and monitoring of project documentation (briefs, timelines, budgets)
  • Collaborating with clients, developers and designers to keep work on track
  • Helping with quality assurance and testing before work goes live
  • Contributing to internal pod/team planning sessions
  • Gathering and reporting on data to support decision-making
  • Using tools like Trello, Notion, Slack and Google Docs to manage work
  • Learning about project governance, stakeholder management, scope, risks and sustainability

You don’t need to be an expert in digital yet but they are looking for:

  • A strong interest in digital or creative projects
  • Clear communication skills and an organised mindset
  • Confidence using digital tools (email, documents, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Enthusiasm for learning about project processes, planning and working with people
  • Eligibility and commitment to completing the Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship

It’s a bonus if you’ve done any project coordination (e.g. at school, college, personal projects, or in a job), or have some familiarity with websites, design or digital tools.

Training

You’ll be supported by a mentor, receive structured training through your apprenticeship provider, and be given dedicated time for learning and development (at least 1.5 days per month).

You will undertake the ground-breaking Professional Apprenticeships Associate Project Manager Level 4 qualification. Professional Apprenticeships are an Ofsted Outstanding rated provider and hold the title of Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Training Provider of the Year for 2021.

During this advanced apprenticeship, you will learn and develop a vast range of skills, covering a range of topics, including:

  • Leadership
  • Project planning
  • Budgeting
  • How to set up contracts

The programme is designed to mould you into a high-level, all-rounded project manager. You will learn in detail about business communication, organisation, managing change, problem solving & much more.

These modules are designed to jump-start your career and make you stand out in an increasingly competitive field, boosting your future earning potential.

Atomic Smash will help you build evidence for your apprenticeship by:

  • Assigning you real responsibility aligned to the apprenticeship duties and KSBs (Knowledge, Skills, Behaviours)
  • Giving you exposure to stakeholder communication, budget monitoring, risk tracking, project planning and more
  • Supporting your off-the-job learning
  • Helping you complete your portfolio, project report, and End Point Assessment
