Introduction
Specialist Teaching Assistants play a vital role in inspiring and supporting learners across all year groups, helping them progress and achieve their full potential. They work closely with colleagues to provide tailored support in one of the following three specialisms SEND, Social & Emotional Well-being and Curriculum Provision.

Who is this apprenticeship right for?
This Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant Programme is the natural progression route for teaching assistants who look to further their career in education. You can work in primary, secondary, special schools, alternative provision, further education institutions such as sixth forms and colleges, and a range of other education settings such as music hubs.
Employer Contribution
£600 for non-levy employers (Non-Levy contribution applies to employers with an annual wage bill of under £3m and enrolling apprentices that are aged 22 and above upon apprenticeship start date).
How will this be delivered?
This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of work-based learning to perform the duties of a Specialist Teaching Assistant Apprentice and achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviour required for the role. When ready to finish your apprenticeship, you will sit an end point assessment – but don’t worry you will have loads of support to prepare for this.
