So Laura, could you please start by introducing yourself?
Hey, I’m Laura, and I work as a Marketing Executive for an independent marketing agency called Pimento. I’m also a photography graduate, and I began my marketing journey shortly after completing my degree. My role is really varied – no two days are the same! I get involved in a wide range of activities, including email campaigns, social media strategy, content creation and event photography.

When you began your Digital Marketing Apprenticeship with Pimento, how did you find the first 3 months?
The first three months (and beyond) were really positive. The onboarding process was smooth and informative, which made me feel comfortable from the very start. My tutor, Yasin, clearly explained how the course was structured and gave me some initial tasks to help me understand both my role and the company. My managers at Pimento were incredibly supportive too – they guided me step by step and made sure I felt confident before working more independently.
How did your tutor support you through your apprenticeship?
I was initially a bit anxious about the academic side of the apprenticeship as I’m dyslexic, but Yasin was incredibly understanding and supportive. He provided additional 1-to-1 sessions to talk through the tasks in more detail, provided extra time during my end point assessment and always made himself available to answer any questions I had. He also recommended some really helpful tools like Grammarly, which made day-to-day tasks much easier and improved the quality of my work. His support made a huge difference to my confidence and my overall success.
You completed your Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship with Pimento, how did you find your whole experience?
Overall, I found the apprenticeship to be a really valuable and rewarding experience. It gave me the chance to develop real-world marketing skills while also gaining a recognised qualification. The mix of hands-on work and structured learning was ideal for me. I was able to apply everything I learned directly to my role, which really accelerated my development, and the support from both my tutor and my workplace made the journey really enjoyable and manageable.
What are your plans now you have completed your apprenticeship?
Now that I’ve completed my apprenticeship, I’m focussed on continuing to grow and develop within my role at Pimento and planning to complete some online courses to strengthen specific skills that I’m less confident in, like the dreaded Excel formulas! I’m also excited to eventually be spending one day a week working with one of Pimento’s member agencies, which will give me the chance to experience a different work environment and gain new skills that I can bring back to my main role.
What would you say to anyone considering an Apprenticeship?
I’d absolutely recommend it! An apprenticeship is a brilliant way to gain hands-on experience while earning a qualification. You learn by doing, which means you build confidence and skills much faster than you might in a traditional classroom setting. It’s also a great opportunity to get your foot in the door of an industry you’re passionate about, with a tutor and managers to support you along the way.
How would you recommend Professional Apprenticeships to someone looking to start?
I’d highly recommend Professional Apprenticeships to anyone looking to start their career through an apprenticeship. The support I received throughout was incredible, and the team really care about your success and are always on hand to help. I’ve already recommended them to several friends who’ve been considering apprenticeships themselves.
