What will I be paid?
As an apprentice you’ll be paid an hourly wage like any other employee. The apprenticeship minimum wage is £6.40 p/h, however we are a part of the Decent Wage Pledge, meaning that many of employers pay more than this. Not only this, but you are also paid your time learning, and the apprenticeship wage only applies for the first year of your apprenticeship. After 12 months you’ll need to be paid at least the minimum wage for your age!
How is the time working / studying split?
As an apprentice you’ll need to spend 6 hours of your regular working week, training, shadowing or learning. This all takes place in your working hours, that’s where the phrase “Earn while you learn” comes from!
