Introduction
The broad purpose of the occupation is to source, format and present data securely in a relevant way for analysis using basic methods; to communicate outcomes appropriate to the audience; analyse structured and unstructured data to support business outcomes; blend data from multiple sources as directed and apply legal and ethical principles when manipulating data. In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with a wide range of stakeholders including colleagues, managers, customers and internal and external suppliers. They would typically work as a member of a team; this may be office based or virtual. An employee in this occupation will be responsible for collecting and processing data under the guidance of a senior colleague or multiple colleagues across the business.
Who is this apprenticeship right for?
The role of data technician would be ideal for anyone starting their career in data analytics or already working in an admin role who would like to progress to a more digital career pathway. Strong numeracy skills are essential. The skills, knowledge and behaviours (KSBs) learnt will allow you to work in all sectors where data is found: finance, retail, education, health, media, manufacturing and hospitality.
Employer Contribution
£600 for non-levy employers (Non-Levy contribution applies to employers with an annual wage bill of under £3m and enrolling apprentices that are aged 22 and above upon apprenticeship start date)
How will this be delivered?
This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of work-based learning, online training sessions or face to face sessions. You will build a portfolio of work you have created to evidence your skills. When ready to finish your apprenticeship, you will sit an end point assessment – but don’t worry you will have loads of support to prepare for this.
